Outstanding Business Students Travel to Orlando, FL to Participate in the Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference
Top students from Brazosport High School attended the Business Professionals of America (BPA) 2017 National Leadership Conference, “Spread Your Wings,” in Orlando, FL, May 10-14, 2017.
Brazosport High School chapter members, Rosa Meza and LeShe’ Neal joined over 6,000 other conference delegates from across the nation to participate in national level business skills competitions, workshops, general sessions, and national officer candidate campaigns and elections. Besides having the opportunity to excel, they experienced the city of Orlando, FL.
“The conference is the culmination of a school year’s worth of business education and training which members of the local chapter of Business Professionals of America at Brazosport High School have received,” said chapter advisor, Amanda Thiede.
Rosa Meza, a senior, attended the National Leadership Conference for the second year in a row to compete in Intermediate Word Processing, placing 19th in the nation. Rosa also participated in Open Events in the areas of Administrative Support Concepts and Financial Math & Analysis.
Freshman, LeShe’ Neal competed in Graphic Design Promotion and earned a 12th place finish. While at NLC, she also participated in BPA University workshops and worked toward her Life Skills Achievement Badge through Next Step Academy.
Business Professionals of America is a national organization for high school, college, and middle school students preparing for careers in business, finance and management information systems. The organization’s activities and programs complement classroom instruction by giving students practical experience through application of the skills learned at school.
