Catalyst Ignite Program Information
The Catalyst Ignite program aims to support CTE workforce students in earning a recognized industry credential with the added incentive of free college after high school, fostering educational and career momentum. The Ignite Program will facilitate a seamless transition for students to obtain a basic certificate in their chosen Ignite pathway.
Eligibility
a. Attend & Graduate from a BC Education Partner (AISD, BISD, CBISD, SISD)
b. Apply Spring of 12th grade year
c. Selected students will start at BC in the Fall Term after high school graduation.
d. Application with short essay & one letter of recommendation required.
e. Maintain a 2.00+ BC GPA to remain eligible.
f. Certificate-seeking students do not require TSIA2.0.
Fields of Study: Students can apply for any of the following high-wage, in-demand fields:
- Cybersecurity
- Construction Management
- Drafting
- Heating, Air Condition, & Refrigeration Technology (HVAC)
- I & C Electrical Instrumentation
- Machinist
- Millwright
- Process Operations
- Welding
*Note: Students with existing college credits in their Ignite pathway receive credit recognition, ensuring efficient use of the scholarship. For example, if a welding student receives their basic certificate in high school and applies for the Ignite program if accepted, the program would pay for 16 additional credit hours beyond the basic certification.
Program Benefits
Accepted students receive:
1. Tuition, fees, & books supplied by Catalyst for their courses in the Ignite Program.
2. Assistance in class registration and connection to BC services.
3. A guaranteed course sequence while in the program.
4. Program meetings, including program orientation, progress check-ins, and career guidance.
Annual Participation
50 students will be admitted each year to receive the scholarship.

February 29th - Applications Open
March 1st - BCPC Email Blast to their applicants
March 26th - Applications Close
April 12th - Student Notified
April 23rd - BCPC Signing Day – Ignite Recognition
May 1st - Ignite Program Meeting
May 15th - Catalyst Signing and Promotions Day
