Students who believe they qualify for exemptions may pick-up exemption papers at lunch December 4-6.

Attendance Expectations:
  • Students are expected to attend all day with the exception of classes from which they are exempt.
  • For exempt students without transportation, there will be no holding area, therefore they must read or work quietly in the classroom while others are testing. Students must remain the entire allotted testing period.

Exemption Criteria:
  • Average grade in the class of 80 or better for the semester AND no more than 5 absences (excused and unexcused)
  • Exemptions are based on the average of the 1st 9 weeks and Progress report 2B. This average and attendance must be maintained through the day of the exam.
  • Students eligible for exemptions may choose to take the exam and have the exam grade count; however, if the exam lowers the semester grade, it will not be used.
  • Classroom teacher attendance records will be used to determine exemptions in each class.
  • Students taking AP (advanced placement courses) must understand that those courses will have some form of exam in the fall to prepare for the AP test. Students taking Honors courses will have cumulative exams in the fall.
  • Students who have been placed to OSS or Alternative  during the current semester will not be eligible for exemptions. Students assigned to ISS 3 or more days are not eligible.
  • 9th & 10th grade students can exempt electives only, excluding Honors & AP courses.
  • 11th & 12th grade students can exempt all classes, excluding Honors, AP, or EOC courses.
