Brazosport FFA is partnering with a wonderful community resource, Harvest for the Hungry and needs your help!

Harvest has a beautiful property in Oyster Creek with fruit, herb and vegetable gardens, chickens,  beekeeping, and a brand new community learning center open to everyone!  https://harvestforthehungrytexas.org/

Harvest recently received an abundant grant in hopes to work closely with Freeport schools to increase wholesome and inclusive 'farm to plate' experiences. The initiative is called 'Farm to Fork'. Harvest's founder, David Huang, is driven to teach sustainability and provide healthful access to food.

Harvest needs monthly volunteers to roll their sleeves up and have some fun in real-life agriculture by help out in the gardens, maintaining the greenhouses, collecting eggs, and harvesting food! Everything grown and raised will go directly back to Freeport students and schools once harvested, wherever there is allowance, need or interest.

Saturday mornings will be the designated volunteer time for students, parents, faculty and staff.

There will be an informational Open House on Saturday, August 20 at 9:30 am.

This a a great educational and service opportunity for our community! We hope to see you there!
