At the Bayou City Music Festival held at Clear Lake High School on Saturday April 28th, Jazz Bands, Choirs, Orchestras and Concert Bands from around the state performed prepared works for a panel of judges. Brazosport Jazz Band impressed the judges and were awarded a Division I rating, named Best in Class, Outstanding Performance, and named Best in Festival.
Individual musicians with the Jazz Band were also recognized for their talents. Jaime Leija, Allison Vasquez and Jonathan Azucena received Outstanding Soloist Awards from the judges.
