Friday, April 26, 2024, Brazosport High School students traveled to Del Valle to participate at the Unified Track and Field State meet where they placed 2nd! They were awarded a plaque and 2 silver medals, one from UIL and one from Special Olympics.
According to the Texas Special Olympics website, Special Olympics Unified Programs bring together athletes with and without intellectual disabilities to train and compete on the same team. Throughout the year, Unified Partners participate in a variety of sports to improve physical fitness, sharpen skills, challenge the competition and have fun!
Thank you to Coach Cahoon and Coach Hayes for coaching the team this year. Also, a big shout out to all the partners who stepped up to be a part of this amazing organization.
