Brazosport High School students recently took part in a meaningful holiday service project that brought joy to children receiving care at Shriners Hospital for burn victims.
This opportunity was made possible through the generosity and coordination of Lisa Matranga and Kim Blank, who delivered Christmas trees decorated by students from both Brazosport and Brazoswood High Schools directly to the hospital. The project allowed students to use creativity and compassion to make a real impact during the holiday season.
Students enrolled in the LeadWorthy course, a required class for all freshmen in Brazosport ISD, decorated mini Christmas trees, created heartfelt cards, and assembled small gifts for the patients. These thoughtful touches helped brighten the holidays for children and families facing difficult circumstances.
Under the guidance of Coach Arion Short and Mrs. LaTosha Pointer-Jones, Brazosport’s LeadWorthy teachers, students demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and service through their participation. The dedication shown by the students was evident in the care and effort put into every tree, card, and gift.
The Brazosport High School community is incredibly proud of the students’ hard work, time, and generosity. Their involvement reflects the core values of the LeadWorthy program, and we look forward to even greater participation in the years to come.
