Mr. Virgil will tell you that this is the best assignment of his career. "I've been called to serve the stakeholders of Brazosport High School and I love everything about what that entails from day to day! He believes that the wind is in our favor and the tide is on our side.

Mr. Virgil grew up in an athletic family that cultivated his competitive spirit with many life lessons, specifically, the ability to persevere and overcome adversity. He is an avid golfer, enjoys biking, swimming, reading, and watching his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Mr. Virgil is humbled to serve as the Principal of Brazosport where his family legacy goes back 40 years. He looks forward to leading Bport with the students’ best interest at heart, welcoming the support and partnerships of the community, and committing to the promise to do whatever it takes for each student's success.

Mrs. Hunter came to Brazosport High School from FIS in 2020, where she served as Assistant Principal. She has her Associates of Arts (Liberal Arts) degree from Pensacola Junior College; Bachelors of Science in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in English from William Carey University and both of her Master’s degrees in Education came from Ashford University. She also obtained her Administrative Leadership credentials from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. Her undergrad years were spent as a collegiate athlete (basketball) and she even played two years of semi-professional basketball for the Shreveport Suns out of Shreveport, Louisiana.

In prior years, she served as a Special Education teacher, department chair and coach at Brazoswood High School for 5 years. Before moving into BISD, she and her family lived in Newton, Texas where she began her educational career as a middle school teacher and coach. 


Mrs. Hunter is married and has two sons: Marrio, age 13 and Kason, age 6. Mrs. Hunter is blessed to have been afforded the opportunity to serve as Assistant Principal at Brazosport High School and eager to continue to make a difference in the lives of the students at Brazosport along with the rest of her Bport family.

Ms. Traylor came to Brazosport High School from T.W. Ogg Elementary, where she served as Principal. She received her Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1992 and her Master’s degrees in Education from the University of Houston-Victoria in 2001. 
In 1993, she began her career in BISD as an 8th grade Math teacher at Freeport Intermediate School.   After receiving her Master’s she served as Assistant Principal and Principal at FIS, and Principal at T.W. Ogg.  Most recently she has served as the At-Risk Coordinator at Brazosport HS.  Her current role on campus is Assistant Principal. 

Ms. Traylor is engaged to her fiance’ Darrel Johnson and has two adult children who are graduates of Brazosport HS: Michael, age 26 and Katie, age 23.  She has dedicated the majority of her career to the students in Freeport and is looking forward to a great year!

Mr. Lawrence J. Rocque IV will be starting his seventh year at Brazosport High School. In addition to his years in BISD, Mr. Rocque has taught in three other  districts (Midland, Spring, and Pasadena). Mr. Rocque is a proud graduate of  Grambling State University where he earned a degree in Secondary Mathematics Education. Mr. Rocque received his Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialty in secondary mathematics.  As a classroom teacher, he taught everything from Algebra I to AP Calculus. Mr. Rocque is married to Angela Rocque who also works in the district. Lawrence and Angela have one child Lawrence J. Rocque V (aka Cinco) who is now attends Brazosport High School as a Junior.

Brandy Labban

Mrs. Brandy Labban always wanted to be an educator. She has enjoyed making a difference in the lives of students she has come in contact with. Mrs. Labban has an Associates Arts degree from San Jacinto Junior College, a Bachelors in Education from University of Houston Clear Lake, and a Masters in Mathematics with an emphasis in Education from University of Texas at Arlington. 

Mrs. Labban began her educational career in Pasadena ISD where she taught 5th grade math for 10 years. In addition to teaching she served as the team lead for PLCs and department chair. Next she transferred to Brazosport ISD, Lanier Middle School, as a math interventionist. During her time at Lanier Mrs. Labban received her Principal Certification through Region 4 ESC. Then she went to Brazosport HS and was an Assistant Principal for 4 years. Now she has moved into the At Risk Coordinator role. She is looking forward to being able to build relationships with our students and find ways to support them and their individual needs beyond the classroom.

Mrs. Labban is married and has a bonus son, Collin, daughter, Kinley, and  two adorable French Bulldogs, Violet and Gunnar. She enjoys scrapbooking, traveling, spending time with family and friends. She is excited for this new adventure and looking forward to inspiring Exporters to be future ready.
