Brazosport High School Library
General Information
Library Hours: 7:15 AM – 3:30 PM
Passes: Students must have a signed pass from a staff member during class time to be able to enter the library.
Check-Out: A total of 4 books can be checked out at a time for a three week period.
Overdue Notices: YOU are responsible for returning books on time. Overdue notices are sent to you by way of your English teacher.
Fines: Fifteen cents (.15) per DAY for overdue books. Maximum fine of $5 or cost of replacing book.
Resources
Librarians: Dr. Pierce and Mrs. Angel
Books: Over 11,000 items in fiction, non-fiction, e-books and audio books.
Periodicals: Current subscriptions to more than 20 hard copy magazines as well as online access to many others.
Databases: Access to over 40 research databases available through MackinVia.
Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC): Online library catalog which is networked with all BISD schools. Search for books by title, author, subject, or keyword.
The INTERNET: An international computer network providing e-mail and information from computers in educational institutions, government agencies, and industry, accessible to the general public via modem links. It may be accessed by students who have an *Acceptable Use Policy on file in the library.
* Acceptable Use Policy: Each student MUST have an Internet Agreement on file signed by the student and their parent before being allowed access to the Internet. Intentional violation of the agreement or abuse of the Internet will result in disciplinary action.
