On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, April 11-13 Brazosport High School hosted and competed in the UIL Concert and Sight Reading Evaluation. Participating bands ranged from intermediate through high school levels.
Director Dennis Boucher and the Brazosport Symphonic Band earned sweepstakes for the 3rd consecutive year. To earn sweepstakes, a band must receive a first division rating on the prepared concert pieces, on a sight reading exercise and on their performance at the fall Marching Contest.
Damon L. Whitley, Assistant Band Director at Brazosport High School and his band earned a first division in the concert stage performance.
First year Head Director at Freeport Intermediate, Randy Laran earned sweepstakes.
First year Assistant Director Cassie Smith, of the FIS Concert One Band, received a first division in sight reading.
