Exporter Tennis Does Great at District Meet and Advance to Regionals!

Our Brazosport tennis team was very successful at the 24 4A District meet Wednesday April 3rd.
Brazosport girls won the girls overall championship, first time in 20 years. Leading the way were Victoria Nichols and Laura Vegas winning 1st place in girl doubles, Abby Becerril and partner Rayne Jones taking 2nd place girl doubles. Jesus Gonzalez and Claire Cundieff winning 1st place in mixed doubles, while Chase Pinhiero and Rylie Jones took 2nd place mixed doubles. Matilda Martinez won 3rd place in girl singles.
Others competing for Brazosport were Aaron Navarette, Frankie Alegria, Roberto Leija, and Dominic Pena.
The Regional tennis tournament is April 17th and 18th in Bryan, Texas. Competing in girls doubles Abby Becerril, Rayne Jones, Victoria Nichols, and Laura Vegas. Competing in mixed doubles: Jesus Gonzalez, Chase Pinheiro, Rylie Jones, and Claire Cundieff. Matilda Martinez will be coming as an alternate.
All matches will be played at Bryan High School. Good luck at Regionals to all!
In addition, the Brazosport Sub-varsity tennis team competed in District 24-4A this past Wednesday. Maile Velasco took home 1st place girl singles. Kaiden Gomez took home 2nd place boy singles. Gio Martinez and Lesly Reyna won 1st in mixed doubles, while Eddie Flores and Emily Ferrell took 3rd place mixed doubles. Manny Galindo and Cruz Soria taking home 3rd place in boy doubles. Overall, Brazosport took home 2nd for JV girls. Way to go, Exporters!
