Brazosport Students Earn First Veterinary Medical Assistant Certification for BISD!
Congratulations to Brazosport HS students, Brenda Espinoza, Emily Guevara & Genesis Martinez for earning the first BISD Veterinary Medical Assistant Certification!
What does it take to be the FIRST BISD students to receive a Certified Veterinary Assistant Certification? These Exporters can tell you that it takes dedication, passion and a lot of hard work!
To be certified under the Texas Veterinary Medical Association program, our Exporters had to log 200 classroom lab hours and 300 hours at an approved clinic and successfully demonstrate 100% of the required skills from both of those learning experiences.
After their 500 hours are completed and skills checklist has been 100% accomplished, each student must pass a comprehensive certification exam!
These awesome Exporter young ladies accomplished all of the above!!!! We are so very proud that they have pioneered the first CVA certifications for BISD and can’t wait for more Exporter and BISD students to follow their example!
A special thanks to Freeport Veterinary Medical Center for allowing our students to practice and learn skills in a real-world clinical situation! Our Freeport community always supports our Exporters!
Thank you to our Vet Med teacher, Risha Broom, for teaching, encouraging and supporting our students in this awesome endeavor! Also, thank you for taking your personal time to deliver the awesome certification news to Brenda, Emily and Genesis!
And most of all, Brenda, Emily and Genesis, thank you for showing us Anything Is Possible! We are very proud of you!
