Senior Piper Sparkman took 2nd place in the District 25-4A golf tournament to qualify her for Regionals. What’s even more impressive is that Piper began the sport of golf for the first time spring of her Junior year and quickly learned to swing her clubs. “She was doing a great job until we got shut down for Covid” her coach, Kody Smith shared when telling Piper’s story. “She came back for spring and worked hard and with her skill, determination and drive now has this great accomplishment to show for it.”
On March 29th the first round of district was held at the Freeport Golf Club and then the second day was at the Rio Grande on the Brazos Golf Club in Bay City, Texas. Piper was second overall in the medalist division and the top two advanced to the next level.
The Class 4A Region IV Girls Golf Tournament will be held April 19-20, 2021 at The Club at Colonial Creek in Victoria, Texas.
Congratulations to Coach Kody Smith and Piper Sparkman, great job!
