Bad Weather Plan - Delay, Delay, Delay, Postpone if Necessary
The Brazosport, May 25, graduation ceremony is currently planned to continue as scheduled at 7:30 p.m. at Hopper Field. If it is raining at the time of graduation, but still safe to be outdoors, the ceremony will continue as scheduled.
BISD administrators will monitor the weather closely. If it becomes unsafe to be outdoors, students will be moved to the John Magee Performance Center at Brazosport High School (across from Hopper Field) for shelter. The Brazosport High School gymnasium and cafeteria will be available for parents and other guests to wait out the weather as well. Updates as to when the ceremony would proceed on Hopper Field would be communicated every 30 minutes on BISD and Brazosport high school Facebook pages and via email to the parents of graduating seniors who have an email address on file with the district.
If the weather continues to be unsafe a final decision will be made at approximately 9:30 p.m. each evening to move the ceremony to the following day and students would be released to attend Project Graduation at that time.
Brazosport’s ceremony would be tentatively scheduled for Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Again, these plans would be contingent on the weather being unsafe to remain outside.
We appreciate you celebrating this achievement with our students and look forward to seeing you at Hopper Field.
