As posted earlier today, we became aware of a non-specific threat that could not be substantiated here at Brazosport High School. We know these actions do not represent a majority of our great students at Brazosport High School. We did have additional officers on campus today to actively monitor our students and their safety.

Early this morning around 8:30, we had a completely unrelated situation occur in that LifeFlight landed in our Baseball Field parking lot for a community business related incident. We also had an EMS call for a student with a history of medical needs.

Also, this morning, we had a student who made a threat via text message. After extensive investigation, the authorities identified the student and made an arrest. Through the investigation, it was determined that the intent of the threat was not to harm anyone but to create alarm. The student will be charged to the fullest extent of the law.

We appreciate the partnership with our BISD Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.

Parents, please help us educate our children about posting threatening statements on social media and/or through text messages and impress upon them that it is a crime that we take very seriously. Please know that Brazosport teachers and staff always have the safety of your student as their top priority.

The absence from Thursday will be counted as excused. Tomorrow we will move forward and are prepared to have a full campus of students ready to learn in a Exporter Proud environment. We will be on regular schedule tomorrow.

Brazosport is truly a school that has a tremendous amount of history, tradition, and community pride. We ask our parents and community to remain united in support of our Exporter students and staff. Thank you for allow us to educate your child each and every day.
